Case Studies : Blue Planet Aquarium

Award winning Blue Planet aquarium has two floors of interactive displays and exhibits. It is one of Britain’s largest aquarium attractions.

Principal structural/civil engineering works:
Extensive internal reinforced concrete tanks house a 70m long Aqua tunnel, made from optical grade Perspex, where the general public can meander whilst more than ten different types of shark swim overhead. The superstructure is shaped in the form of a wave to continue the oceanic theme.
