Case Studies : The Matchworks Factory

Refurbishment and conversion of an historic industrial building.

Principal structural/civil engineering works:
The building was one of the first reinforced concrete flat slab structures in Britain and featured elegant circular concrete columns with mushroom heads. A new steel mezzanine structure was inserted to complement the original design and new service pods were built at the rear.

New structural roof lights were formed in the concrete roof slab. A second phase is on site, together with an office block at the front corner of the site (The Match Box)
