The combination of more than 100 years consulting civil and structural engineering expertise, Bingham Davis is borne out of two practices, TD Bingham Ltd and Nickson Davis.
Bingham is a name synonymous with quality engineering; Percy Bingham established one of the region’s first practices in 1928 and now, almost eighty years on, Percy’s grandson Tim (founder of TD Bingham Ltd in 1989) has completed a merger with John Davis to form Bingham Davis Ltd.
Nickson Davis was established by John Davis and Peter Nickson as an independent firm of consulting civil and structural engineers in Ellesmere Port in 1976. As partners they gained a reputation for providing innovative cost effective design solutions, which was achieved by employing a philosophy that promoted structural development through close examination of the client’s requirements and continual review during the project evolution. This work ethos enabled their practice to gain a wide and varied client base in both the private and public sectors, resulting in high volumes of repeat business.
Having very similar values and principle objectives, the two firms merged in March 2006. The two operations have been integrated into a new purpose-built office in Liverpool’s Temple Street, where they look forward to celebrating 80 years of engineering in Liverpool in 2008, to coincide with the city’s crowning as Capital of Culture.
