John was a founding Partner of Nickson Davis Consulting Engineers, which he formed with Peter Nickson in 1976. John also managed the recent merger with T D Bingham Limited to form Bingham Davis Limited on the lst March 2006.

As a principle of the former practice and the new company John’s principal role has centred on business development within the private and public sectors of the industry. Over the years he has worked in many sectors of the industry including industrial, commercial, retail, leisure, educational and health and has gained a reputation as being a pro-active member of the team providing initiative cost effective solutions. In this role whilst working with other members of his design team he is responsible for the initial design phase for many of the larger projects in the practice.

In recent years he has worked on a number of major reclamation schemes for former gas works, landfill sites, derelict industrial sites and a former oil refinery site. This work involved bio-remediation and encapsulation of contaminated soils, vacuum extraction of soil gases, the design of vertical in ground gas barriers to prevent the migration of soil gases and the remodelling of site topography to provide a suitable development platform.
