Rob’s career began with Clarke Nicholls and Marcel in 1980 as a trainee technician, primarily working on civil and structural consultancy engineering within the health authority field. He later went on to qualify with a BEng (Hons) from John Moores University in Liverpool and joined Bingham Cotterell in 1989 as a graduate engineer.

Working with a variety of consultants, Rob gained extensive experience in highway bridges, commercial developments, petro-chemical works, contamination/reclamation, water authority works and large multi-million pound mixed-use developments.

In 1999 he joined Nickson Davis as an associate partner with the principal task of utilising his experience in consulting and administration in order to manage the office. This included project generation, manpower and financial control, project management of many large varied projects and reviews of all other designs within the office.

Within the newly merged company Rob is a director responsible for the project directors' administration of all projects, including quality, technical, financial and programming needs throughout each project's life.
